When using g_ether and when connected to PC, the PC detects it as RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget and you can assign address, share internet connection to it and so on. The rPi uses dwc2 overlay to control the otg/host functionality and g_ether for the usb interface communication, there are other possibilities as well like g_serial and g_multi. Tool for configuring the UART on a Raspberry Pi. This is a catch-all repository for auxiliary utilities I developed for my boat. That being said, some of the utilities are relevant for non-boat usage (like uart_control), some of the utilities do not require to be run on a Raspberry Pi (like gpsd2nmea, aisd or aisplay) and some have nothing to do with boats or Raspbbery Pi directly (like traffic_counter).
